Volunteer Opportunities

Experience the emotional rewards of volunteering by donating the gift of your times and talent to the Barnstable Senior Center.  Training is provided for all positions.  The following positions are available.

SILVER VAN DRIVER & ASSISTANTS:

Transport seniors to medical appointments morning or afternoon—training provided—assistants help seniors on/off the van & to/from doors. Be part of this valuable program!

ADULT SOCIAL DAY HELPER:

Spend a few hours or a day each week helping with crafts, games, exercise, or noon meal—make a meaningful contribution to the wellness of our elders!


RECEPTION/DATA INPUT

Help at the Front Desk, or with needed reports and data files. Be part of an interesting & upbeat team!


GENERAL HELP/HANDYMAN

Lots of opportunities to help around the Center, with minor repairs, small projects, set-up/clean-up, etc—Also assist elders with odd jobs at their own


LIBRARY COMMITTEE: WELLNESS INFORMATION VOLUNTEER
Needed 1/2 day a week, to assist visitors finding materials; to keep the information display racks neat and complete; to replenish information stock;to maintain inventory/re-order. Also would need to attend Library Committee meetings as requested.

 

Computer Class Trainer
We offer 2 hour classes once a week, if you have a basic understanding, that would be very helpful.  If you have the desire to learn the basics about the computer, we are happy to teach you.
