How to Obtain an ORV Sticker

Neck
2009 ORV permits:
All 2008 permit/sticker holders will be sent renewal
applications in March.
We do not limit the number of permits we sell and they will be
available throughout the year.
You can either purchase your 2009 permit/sticker by mail or you
can buy a permit at the Sandy Neck Gatehouse.

Cost of 2009 ORV permits:
Barnstable resident: $70.00
Sandwich
resident: $105.00
Non-residents: $140.00
When you come to the gatehouse to purchase an ORV permit,
your vehicle will be inspected for the required equipment. For information on this subject please review
“Required
Equipment and Minimum Standards”
Currently, 4.5 miles of the front beach is open for ORV use.
This means that the Front Beach corridor is open from the
Access Trail to Trail 6. ORV use is not permitted on side
trails or on tidal flats. Within the ORV beach corridor, please
drive and park above the berm.
Please park your vehicle perpendicular to the dune.
Remember

ORV’s will not be allowed on the beach after
9PM.

All ORV’s (except campers) need to be off the
beach by 11PM.
·
Please remember to air down to 18 psi.
·
Campers have the right of way.
Camping:
Limited overnight camping will be allowed on Sandy Neck in
compliance with all Sandy Neck Rules and Regulations. Decisions
regarding openings and closings and any changes to permitted
overnight camping will be made based upon expected and
forecasted wind and tidal conditions.
Please park your camper perpendicular to the dune.
Camp Fires:
Evening camp fires are allowed on the Sandy Neck ORV beach.
However, this can only occur when weather conditions are
permitting, so please check with Sandy Neck staff on the day you
would like a camp fire. Campfires are allowed after sunset.
Fishing and Shellfishing:
Fishing is permitted on Sandy Neck Beach in all areas except the
Public Beach (directly adjacent to the parking lot). Please
call the Gatehouse for information on accessing Sandy Neck
shellfishing areas 508-362-8300.
Horseback Riding:
Horseback riding is permitted on Sandy Neck within designated
areas. A horseback riding permit is required. Please call the
Gatehouse for more information 508-362-8300.
