The Hyannis Youth and Community Center is located at 141 Bassett Lane in Hyannis, it is home to two rinks, the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Memorial Skating Rink and the Patrick M. Butler Memorial Skating Rink. The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Rink is home to the Cape Cod Cubs, Mashpee High School, and Barnstable’s own High School Hockey.

The Patrick M. Butler Memorial Skating Rink is home to the Recreation Division’s Learn to Skate Programs, Cape Cod Skating Club, and Barnstable Youth Hockey Association.

Back by popular demand “The Punch Card”. Students purchase a card for $50, Adults $70, and Seniors $20 to be used for 10 admissions and the 11th rental or admission is free.

Ice time is available some evenings for private groups. To inquire about rates and availability, please contact our Rink Manager.

Public Skating is offered daily while the Rink is open. The schedule GENERALLY runs as follows:

Monday - Friday 9:30am - 2:00pm

Saturdays 2:10pm - 3:50pm

Sundays 2:15pm - 4:30pm

Public Skating Schedules can change from month to month, so call the program line at 508-862-4001 or visit our office to pick up a printed calendar. Admission is $5 for Students (under 18 years old), $7 for Adults (18+), $2 for Senior Citizens (62+), and all Skate Rentals are $4. We sharpen skates too for $5 a pair!

The Recreation Division also runs two sessions of the Learn To Skate Clinic on the ice at the Butler Rink. These clinics run back to back for eight weeks plus one week of testing. (September through November and December through February) We have classes for everyone, ranging from Tots (ages 3 & 4) up to Adult beginner & advanced classes. The badges earned are through the Learn To Skate Program sponsored by the United States Figure Skating Association.
