Where can I get an application?
The application is available online in a Word Document or a PFD file on the Employment page. It is also
available in the Human Resources office located at 230 South Street, Hyannis, MA. If you need the application mailed or faxed to you call
508-862-4694.

How do I get my application to you?
Applications may be faxed (508-790-6307) or emailed in order to meet any applicable
deadline, but the original, signed form must then be mailed or hand-delivered in order to finalize the application process.

What happens if I miss the Deadline for the position I am interested in?
Your application is placed in the vacancy file that you applied for. If the position is reopened for new applications, yours will be considered at
that time. You will need to submit a new application for each position you are interested in.

Where are you located?
The Town of Barnstable Human Resources office is located on the first floor of the School Administration Building (SAB) at 230 South Street, Hyannis,
MA 02601. The building is located next to the Town Hall building and behind the Hyannis Post Office. Coming from the East, enter Main Street, get in
the left hand lane passing the Village Green, the Post Office and the Kennedy Museum. Take the first left just past the Kennedy Museum between that
building and the Hyannis Library into the Municipal Parking Lot. The SAB building faces the parking lot. Coming from the west, get onto South Street
and watch for the Guyer Barn, the Municipal Parking lot is after it on the right.

I want Seasonal work with the Recreation Department, is this where I come?
No, the Recreation Department handles their own seasonal advertising, applications and interviewing. You may inquire for Recreation Seasonal positions
at the Kennedy Memorial Skating Rink, 141 Basset Lane, Hyannis MA 02601 or visit the Recreation webpage.

I worked for the Town in the past as a Seasonal Employee, how to I obtain a refund from the Copeland or AETNA Companies?
If you do NOT plan to work for the Town in the next year, you can request a refund by calling 1-877-721-5894. They will mail you a form that you need
to complete and have signed off by the Treasury Department of the Town of Barnstable. The Treasury Department is located at 230 South Street, 3 rd Floor, Hyannis, MA 02601.

No, the Barnstable Libraries are private libraries and there are seven of them Hyannis LibraryCenterville Library, Osterville Free Library,Cotuit Library, Marstons Mills Public Library,Whelden Memorial Library, (W. Barnstable), and Sturgis Library, (in Barnstable Village).

Can you transfer me to the Fire Department?
No, the Town of Barnstable has 5 separate and autonomous Fire Districts. The Hyannis Fire Department covers
the village of Hyannis; the Centerville/Osterville/Marstons Mills Fire Department;
the Cotuit Fire Department, the West Barnstable Fire Department and the Barnstable Fire Department cover the villages named in their respective titles.
