13-11-03 -64028 Range
Attendant – Shooting Range, Marine & Environmental Affairs: Supports
range operation by greeting the public, providing information,
collecting fees, maintaining security, keeping records, database
entry, and maintenance/cleaning of facility; all other related work
as required. High School diploma. CPR and First Aid or
equivalent. Ability to communicate with the public in an effective
manner. Ability to follow procedures and enforce regulations.
Knowledge of operations of the range and procedures associated with
the range. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to remain
calm in emergency situations, communicating quickly and effectively
to assist in providing emergency response if needed. Ability to
work independently. Ability to use computer and various software
programs include database entry and creating/using spreadsheets.
(up to 29 hours per week),
13-11-04 – 64029 Certified Range Safety
Officer, Marine & Environmental Affairs: Provide supervision and oversight of
shooting operations at the Town of Barnstable Shooting Range; all
other related work as required. Experience in any of the
following: law enforcement at a municipal, county, state or federal
law enforcement agency; military range instructor, or other similar
work related to safety operations on a firing range. Experience as a
firearms instructor is highly desirable. Documentable familiarity
with firearms, and ability to successfully demonstrate shooting
capability as well as safe gun handling of various weapons to MEA
Director or designee. Minimum of three years experience. CPR and
First Aid, or equivalent. MA driver’s license required.
Certification as a Range Safety Officer. Mass License to carry
permit or equivalent. Knowledge and experience in maintaining and
safe use of firearms. Communication and people skills. $15.00
hourly (up to 19 hours per week), no benefits.
13-08-04- 74104 Temporary Custodian, Structures & Grounds:
manual work involving the responsibility for the cleaning of public
buildings for the Town of Barnstable. Experience in building
cleaning, painting or general upkeep; or any equivalent combination
of education and experience. General knowledge of cleaning
materials and methods and the ability to perform moderately physical
labor are required.
$11.00 hourly, no benefits.
